Live Your Life Breathwork Circle $40Purchase required to enroll

with Tiffany Curren
2-3:30pm, Saturday, February 9
$40

Are you finding that you're feeling stuck? Maybe life is pretty good, but you aren't totally living it to the fullest. I will tell you that the power to grow, transform, and create your dream life is within you. All you’ve got to do is breathe, and allow the energy and barriers that no longer serve you to move out.

Breathwork is a powerful meditation tool. Using a specific and active pranayama to release stagnant energy and blocks that are keeping you from living your authentic life, we will dive deep and find our personal power and healing potential through the breath.

This workshop will begin with a short discussion about how we view our lives, and the messages we replay that are holding us back from really living. We'll take some time to journal and envision the life we want, experience a short guided meditation, and then begin the breath. This class ends with an extended savasana to allow for the process of integration.

Yoga is not synonymous with asana, even though most of the general public thinks so. Yoga is about learning to pay attention. All the practices direct us to focus our attention on one thing, and as we practice and breathe and learn to focus, our minds get quieter. We begin to see things that were previously too clouded by the busy-ness of the mind to see. We like this. We feel more centered, more relaxed. And one day, maybe all at once, and maybe little by little, we “get” it, we wake up. And what do we wake up to? The realization that there really is only ONE of us here. And that is the experience of yoga - the connection with the True Self. We cannot conceptualize, define, or explain it. We can only have it. It is an experience of boundlessness, and it is born of practice.

No one can teach us yoga, really. Teachers can only pass along a set of instructions to follow, and if we follow those instructions, perhaps that will lead us to the experience. Once that happens, a transformation occurs, we change. We become more conscious, more aware, more compassionate, more, well, connected. And that is the point of all the work - to recognize there really is no such things as “other.” It becomes impossible to ignore the suffering of the world and we realize that the whole point of our life is to serve. Seva isn’t something you do part time, or only on Wednesday afternoons - it’s a lifestyle. It’s an awareness you bring into every aspect of your life. Everything you do is with compassion and awareness - and this comes from years of practice and paying attention.

YOGA OF 12-STEP RECOVERY IS A HOLISTIC MODEL DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SPIRITUAL DISEASE OF ADDICTION.

Conversely, yoga itself means union, integration, balance. Yoga and its practices teach the fine art of balancing our multidimensional lives while living in a complex world.

Yoga of 12-Step Recovery was created as a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Y12SR “connects the dots” by combining the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-step recovery model – the most well-known addiction recovery program in the world, with millions of active practitioners.Y12SR is a donation-based relapse prevention program open to the community and anyone is welcome to attend. One does not need to currently be attending a 12-step program, or currently practice yoga, to participate. Classes are limited for ages 13 and older.
