Nothing compares to fall in Vermont. The colorful foliage and autumn sun beckon us to spend as much time as possible outside. Many of us are busy harvesting gardens and stacking wood, hiking, cycling, kayaking... doing all those outdoor things in the comfortable temperatures. It's important to balance our active yang nature and take time to rest and decompress. In this class Jo will guide you through restorative yin yoga poses giving you time to stretch your tired muscles and breathe. Yin is about stillness, surrender, letting go and just being exactly how you are.

As a pairing with Jo’s beautiful Yin Yoga flow, Anna will be offering a healing sound bath with singing bowls, chimes, rain sticks, and other restorative tools. She will then move around to each of you and provide hands-on Reiki healing, balancing and aligning your chakras. After all of this, you will leave feeling calm, centered, and deeply grounded.

Gentle Restorative Yoga (Mild) $20 per class From $10 per visit with Student 10 Class Pass (age 13-21) pass Purchase required to enroll

We will begin class in a restorative yoga posture with centering pranayama (breath work) exercises. Centering will be followed with gentle stretches and some simple sun salutation variations to move energy throughout the body. After this 30 minute warm-up, we will transition to Restorative Yoga postures for the remainder of our session.

The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, without strain or pain, one can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Our parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated when we relax into poses, which promotes a relaxation response- slowing your heart rate and breath and increasing blood flow to your vital organs- reducing stress in the body and mind.

You will learn how to use props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets, sandbags and straps (available in our studio for you to use) so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. This is a great practice to balance an active schedule and an excellent way to practice self care.

Open to everyone. No experience necessary.

LIVESTREAM Gentle Restorative Yoga (Mild) $20 per class From $10 per visit with Student 10 Class Pass (age 13-21) pass Purchase required to enroll

Gentle yoga is essentially what it sounds like—a gentler style of hatha yoga practice. It is performed at a slower pace, with less intense postures, and usually includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. We will flow slowly through gentle yoga poses to release and relieve tension in the body, mind and Spirit, if you will.

Class will end with a guided meditation. You will learn how to count 108 breaths on your hands or how to count your breaths using a mala. If you have a set of mala beads - please bring them to class. If not, no worries, you can use the hand counting method to count your breaths.

A link to a video of this class will be emailed to you and available for viewing for 24 hours.

Meditation, Pranayama, Chanting & Philosophy (Mild) $20 per class From $10 per visit with Student 10 Class Pass (age 13-21) pass Purchase required to enroll

Join us Saturday mornings to breathe, chant, meditate and learn yoga philosophy.

Have you been encouraged to meditate by a doctor, a friend or something you read, heard or saw in the news? Do you find meditating challenging? Join us Saturday mornings to breathe, chant, meditate and learn yoga philosophy and together we will break down the barriers. You will be inspired to include meditation in your daily activities. A few minutes every day is like a vacation. You will find yourself refreshed, inspired and relaxed.

Pranayama is focused breathing. We often hold our breath and don't even realize it. We will practice breathing techniques to calm our mind, relax our body and open our heart.

Chanting - singing - is proven to be good for us! It also calms and focuses our mind. Doesn't matter if you can hold a tune and it is not religious.

Yoga Philosophy reminds us to live fully in the present moment. It teaches us to pay attention to what is true and to let go of what no longer serves us.

The emotional and physical benefits of meditation, chanting and focused breathing can include:

• improves brain health
• reduces memory loss
• increases concentration and attention span
• enhances the quality of sleep
• boosts creativity and happiness
• improves breathing
• induces physical relaxation
• detoxifies and relaxes your mind
• reduces stress
• reduces anxiety and depression
• lowers blood pressure
• increases pain threshold
• helps you connect with others
• facilitates going more deeply into presence
• generates empathy and kindness

Learn and practice with us. If you have a mala (string of 108 beads) bring it along. If not, no worries. Absolutely no experience necessary.

Have you ever experienced brain fog? We think it comes from living busy lives and/or aging. We tend to think it’s inevitable, but, in reality, it is not. Research has proven that yoga and meditation help to reduce stress (a leading issue for memory loss) and improve mental focus and clarity. The mission of this new class is to help prevent memory related diseases and help individuals live a high quality of life through yoga, reiki and meditation.

Yes, you can affect the health of your brain when you choose to educate yourself with proper prevention strategies. Each week, we will study different parts of the Four Pillars of Brain Longevity and then practice slow flow yoga. This style of practice promotes peace and quiet in the mind and body, preparing you for meditation.

Our practice will end each week with a medical mind body meditation called Kirtan Kriya also known as Brain Aerobics. This meditation is based on the work of Dharma Singh Khalsa, MD, Founding President/Medical Director of the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Organization in Tucson, Arizona.

You will learn and practice easy, accessible tools you can use in daily life. This practice is open to all levels. No yoga experience necessary.

Flow Yoga (Medium) $20 per class From $10 per visit with Student 10 Class Pass (age 13-21) pass Purchase required to enroll

Flow yoga is a mixture of meditation, breath-work and energizing movement. Class begins with gentler movements to warm up the body, then moves into progressively more challenging flowing sequences. These may include standing poses, balances, inversions and peak poses. The classes tend to end with slower, deeper stretches, and often floor-based asana practice.

The breath synchronization found in flow yoga maximizes the positive benefits of the practice, turning it into a moving meditation. The breath primarily helps to maintain the pace of the sequence, preventing practitioners from rushing through poses. It can also be used to assist in deepening the expression of a pose, while providing greater mental focus and freedom from distraction. In this way, meditation and breath work are woven throughout class.

Regardless of the practitioner’s level, flow yoga can be modified to accommodate those with injuries or disabilities, as well as a varied level of experience. This is an all levels class where students can adapt the pose to themself, versus adapting themself to the pose. The teacher will offer 'stops on the train' for the poses, and in that way, meet each student where they are. Classes are limited to ages 13 and older.
