A 6-Week Beginner Yoga Series - with Lela Hughes

Curious about Yoga and interested in beginning a yoga practice? Want to refine and deepen an already existing practice? If so, join Lela Hughes for a 6-week Beginner Yoga Series. Over the course of these 6 weeks we will explore the basic principles of Yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work), mindfulness, and the strength and grace that arise from their integration. Each class will offer a balanced yoga sequence working with attention to proper alignment, learning to synchronize breath with movement, and finding our abilities to authentically express oneself through the ancient tradition of Yoga. Each week we will build upon sun salutations A and B, introducing new poses and expanding our vinyasa flow. This class is suitable for individuals who can up and down off the floor with ease.


Lela Hughes, RYT 200, has been practicing yoga for 17 years, becoming increasingly dedicated over time. Heart of the Village Yoga has allowed Lela the opportunity to advance her practice both on and off the mat. Lela enjoys the challenge of a rajasic yoga practice and sequences that build heat from the inside out. She is excited to share her love of the practice with new students - honing in on alignment and breath work. Lela, an interior designer, can be found spending time outside with her family - snowboarding and sledding in the winter, and gardening and exploring nature in the warmer months.
